Hecker / Voafose - Split 10" more images Label: Rephlex Catalog#: KIT 001 Format: Vinyl, 10" Country: UK Released: 24 Oct 2006 Notes: This is a limited edition vinyl pressing featuring selected tracks from the Rephlex albums by Florian Hecker of Mego and Jeremy Simmonds (Voafose). Tracklisting: A Hecker Precedence B1 Voafose Taptics B2 Voafose Big Ben Coming on ultra-limited 10" vinyl from the Rephlex machine (as these things tend to) there's bound to be a bunch of interest in the record regardless of who's on it and the fact that it's Mego-stalwart and noise-overlord Florian Hecker on one side will no doubt have the ebay hounds salivating into their Crunchy Nut Cornflakes even further. Hecker's contribution is typically oblique, but doesn't come across anywhere near as noisy as you would think if you've seen him perform (my ears have never been the same since.). The sound mangler turns in a side of slightly changing clicks which do very little other than. well. click for about 5 minutes or so. Of course this might not sound like much, but it's Hecker, so. there you go. Voafose is on the flip side with a couple of tracks from his forthcoming self-titled album which blends early BBC Radiophonic styles with elements of musique concrete and humorous tape manipulations - in other words, very good stuff and well worth scoring on vinyl.
